Greg's Simulated Sports Game Viewer

 Key features include:

• Scoreboard-like interface that shows the score and time left separate from the play-by-play.
• Real-time display of play-by-play with a slider to control playback speed.
• Play-by-play includes stat updates relevant to the current play. For example, if a basket is scored the play-by-play will include the total points scored by the shooter and their field-goal percentage.
• Points scored and other key stats displayed for all players, with players currently on the court highlighted in green.
• Running foul and rebound totals tracked and displayed for each team.
• Halftime and game summary screens display detailed stats, including new stats such as offensive rebounds, points off turnovers, and many others.

Installation Notes

The file downloaded above is a Windows Installer database file. Double-click the downloaded file to install the viewer. If this does not work for you, you may not have a current version of Windows Installer on your machine. You can get a version for Win9x here, or for NT/2000 here.

1.1.0:

• Bolded many of the labels to make them stand out better.
• Added single-stepping of the play-by-play. To activate, move the speed slider all the way to the left. The "Pause" button will change to "Advance" which will single-step the play-by-play. The mouse wheel can also be used to advance the play-by-play by rotating it towards you. If you use the scrollbar to check out older plays, the mouse wheel will change to scroll through those plays. If you lose mouse wheel play advancement (either by scrolling back through the play-by-play, or accidentally clicking in the dialog), just click the "Advance" button once and you'll get it back.

1.0.4:

• Added team field-goal percentage and number of turnovers to the team stats display on the scoreboard.
• Some minor tweaks to the individual stats display. There is now room to display an extra stat, and the requirements for some stats to be displayed have been reduced.

1.0.3:

• Fixed the crash bug on Win9x. Win98 and ME should work fine now, I'm still not positive about Win95.
• Installer should take care of uninstalling the old version without requiring you to manually uninstall first.

1.0.2:

• Removed all code requirements for Win98 in an attempt to get the viewer running on Win95. I'm not sure this will work, though, as the MFC version I'm using may require Win98 or higher since Microsoft has abandoned Win95 support.
• Scoring plays now highlighted with a yellow background in the play-by-play. I set this up so I could change the colors for pretty much any play type, but I didn't like the results with having too many plays colorized so only scoring plays are done this way. I'll consider requests for highlighting other plays or giving you a customization dialog to set the colors however you'd like.

1.0.1:

• You can now load another game after viewing the first one. I cleared the play list in between this time ;-)
• Players currently on the court are highlighted with a green background and white text in the scorer lists at the bottom of the main window.
